LONDON: Cineflix International Distribution has landed a number of sales in Russia and Ukraine, on titles such as A Dog’s Life and Inside the Box with Ty Pennington.

Russian distributor Studio U7 went for 78 hours of Cineflix programming, with a package that included shows centered on animals. The deal included A Dog’s Life, Animals at Work, Zoo Tales and all five seasons of Dogs with Jobs. Also heading to Russia, in a deal with broadcaster 7TV, are Inside the Box with Ty Pennington, Kim’s Rude Awakenings and Rags to Red Carpet.

Rags to Red Carpet has also sold into Ukraine, through an agreement with CITI/Gravis TV. The channel also went for Eat Yourself Sexy and Princess. Ukrainian commercial broadcaster TBI took more than 50 hours of Cineflix content, including Huge Moves and Surviving the Future.

Caroline Schroeter, regional sales executive at Cineflix, commented: “We are starting to unlock the huge potential of the Russian and Ukrainian markets. Local broadcasters are demonstrating their openness to, and enthusiasm for, quality factual content.”

She added that the CIS’s media landscape has changed significantly in the last half year: “In the aftermath of the economic downturn, there has been significant restructuring, with new channels and media players entering the territory. Broadcasters are also becoming more open-minded about factual entertainment, and Cineflix is making the most of this change in attitude to strengthen its position in these dynamic markets.”
