Cineflix Lands U.K. Sales for Border Security USA & Surf Patrol

LONDON: National Geographic Channel UK has picked up Cineflix International’s Border Security USA, while Discovery UK went for seasons two and three of Surf Patrol.

Border Security USA is Cineflix’s first U.S. prime-time network program. The 13×1-hour series, which aired on ABC as Homeland Security, features unprecedented access to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The original format is from Australia’s Seven Network. Simon Bohrsmann, the general manager of National Geographic Channel UK, said: "One of the most difficult battlegrounds for the United States today is its own border. The threats of terrorism, crime and illegal immigration across thousands of miles make for extraordinary stories. Border USA is right in the middle of the action, but it also documents the many fascinating little human dramas which crop up when tens of thousands of people are on the move."

Also produced by Seven Network, Surf Patrol follows a group of lifeguards as the patrol Australia’s beaches and coastline. The deal sees Discovery UK taking 20 half-hour episodes.
