Cheetah Girls Deliver for Disney Channel

BURBANK, August 29: The premiere of the newest Disney
Channel original movie The Cheetah Girls 2
drew an average of 7.8 million viewers on Friday night, the most ever
for an original movie debut in the history of the channel, and the most-watched
program—broadcast and basic cable—for the entire day.

In total viewers, it beat the number-two program for the
day, CBS’ Numb3rs, by 30 percent. It was
also the most-watched program for the day in kids 6-11 (3.3 million) and 9-14
(3.2 million)

Further, Friday was Disney Channel’s most-watched day on
record in prime time in total viewers and kids 6 to 11 and was Disney’s
most-watched total day ever in total viewers.

In the girls 6 to 11 demo, Disney’s share was a whopping 61
percent, and 59 percent in girls 9 to 14.
