PRAGUE: The eighth edition of East Silver, a documentary market for Central and Eastern Europe, is now accepting submissions for its upcoming event in Jihlava, Czech Republic, from October 25 to 30.

The submissions must be produced within 2010 to 2011 and have English subtitles or feature an English voiceover, with trailer. The deadline for submissions is June 30. Entries are also valid for the 15th Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival program pre-selection and Doc Alliance Films pre-selection.

East Silver is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting documentaries from Central and Eastern Europe. Each year, about 350 films from more than 29 countries are considered for the market. The group also organizes the Silver Eye Award, recognizing the best documentary of the East Silver Market nominated from submissions. Eleven films are nominated in each category (feature, mid and short length). An international jury selects the best films in every category. All winners will be awarded prize money of 1,500 euros.
