CBS to Premiere New DIC Series on KEWLopolis Kids’ Block

NEW YORK/LOS ANGELES, November 2: Beginning this weekend, CBS’s
Saturday morning children’s programming block, KEWLopolis on CBS, will roll out two new animated series: Dino
Squad
and Sushi Pack.

Dino Squad and Sushi
Pack
will debut on Saturday, November 3.
Targeted towards girls and boys ages 9 to 11, the 13×30-minute Dino
Squad
from DIC Entertainment features five
teens who suddenly gain the power to transform into dinosaurs. The series
provides pro-social messaging for kids on various topics, including online
safety, dealing with bullies, the importance of telling the truth, being
responsible, thinking of others and other excellent role model behavior. Dino
Squad
also features environmental
information woven into the story lines that address global warming; herbicides;
the delicate balance of nature; eco-friendly, fuel-efficient and emissions-free
vehicles; clean oceans; anti-litter and recycling. An interactive FCC-compliant
website for boys, www.dinosquad.com, will launch in conjunction with the
series. The site will include features such as customized dino avatars,
multiplayer games, show information and environmental/educational content.

Also targeted at the 9- to 11-year-old set, the 26×11-minute
Sushi Pack, a DIC and American Greetings
Properties co-production, follows five crime-fighting pieces of sushi that
protect Wharf City from over-the-top diabolical villains. The series was
written by Tom Ruegger and Nicholas Hollander, the Emmy Award-winning writers and
producers behind series like Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures
and Pinky and the Brain. The
series features educational and pro-social messages that include building
teamwork, cooperation, conflict resolution and good nutrition, among others.

The two series joins other children's educational and
informational programming on CBS' newly launched KEWLopolis on CBS lineup, including Care Bears: Adventures
in Care-A-Lot
and Strawberry
Shortcake
from American Greetings
Properties, and Cake and Horseland from DIC.
