CBeebies Adds to Big Fun Time Block

LONDON, January 15: The
preschool series Yoko! Jakamoko! Toto! from Collingwood O'Hare Productions has been acquired by CBeebies to
air weekdays in its Big Fun Time programming
block.

The series, which draws
upon traditional Spanish, Latin American and African art and music for its
unique style, joins CBeebies on January 26. As part of its multiplatform
exposure, 26 previously unseen one-minute episodes will premiere on the
CBeebies website. The show follows the adventures of an exuberant animal trio:
Yoko the bird, Jakamoko the armadillo and Toto the cheeky monkey. The group
faces many problems together, but thanks to their enduring friendship and
teamwork, there's always a happy ending.

Kay Benbow, the head of
CBeebies' production, animation and acquisitions, said, "We are delighted
to bring this visually distinctive, funny and fabulously original series to our
CBeebies audience…."

Tony Collingwood, the
show's creator and lead writer, added, "Yoko! Jakamoko! Toto! is a witty, vibrant celebration of friendship and
the sheer joy of being alive!"
