Cartoon Network to Debut Mr. Men Show from Chorion

LONDON, April 12: Cartoon Network in the U.S. will launch The
Mr. Men Show,
a new 52×11-minute animated
sketch comedy series for kids from Chorion, in January 2008.

Cartoon Network will also co-produce the series, which is
based on the original Mr. Men and
Little Miss
books created in the 1970s by
Roger Hargreaves. Chorion will be highlighting the series at MIPTV.

Brought to life by writer-producers Kate Boutilier and Eryk
Casemiro, Mr. Men is being animated in
Los Angeles by Renegade Animation. Twenty-five Mr. Men and Little Miss
characters will be featured in the new series. To complement the new animation
style, some of the characters are being refreshed and some will be completely
re-worked.

Bob Higgins, the SVP of programming and original animation
at Cartoon Network, commented: “We are very excited to be working with Chorion
to bring these characters to a new generation of viewers. We have jointly
developed a unique and fresh approach by adopting the sketch comedy show
formula for kids. We feel this is a funny and engaging show and that it sits
firmly with Cartoon Network's comedy roots and will appeal to our younger
audience."

The original Mr. Men and
Little Miss
book series have notched up
sales of more than 100 million units in over 30 countries.
