Canada’s Citytv Unveils Summer Slate

TORONTO: Comedies, game shows, dramas and unscripted fare are all in the mix on Citytv’s schedule for the summer, among them Law & Order UK, which makes its Canadian debut.

Hitched or Ditched launched in its first season, taking a Tuesday, 9 p.m. time slot. The reality series watches couples who are in long-term relationships and have yet to take the plunge into marriage. Following on Tuesdays at 10 p.m., Make Me a Supermodel returns for its sophomore season. A new panel of judges step up to decide who from a group of aspiring models has what it takes to make it to the top of the modeling business. The new Mike Judge comedy The Goode Family airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. The animated series follows a family obsessed with doing the "right" thing environmentally, politically and socially.

Law & Order UK makes its Canadian debut on June 11 at 10 p.m. Based on the successful Dick Wolf franchise, the series watches as a group of detectives solve some of the most gruesome crimes ever committed in Britain. On July 8, I Survived a Japanese Game Show kicks off in its second season. The series follows a new batch of Americans as they are flown to Japan to compete in the ultimate Japanese game show. Also on July 8, Krod Mandoon, a satirical comedy set in a medieval fantasy world, makes its debut.

A sixth season of Hell’s Kitchen premieres July 21, watching as hot-tempered chef Gordon Ramsay returns to school a new set of contestants. The series premiere of More to Love is slated for July 28. The new dating competition from The Bachelor‘s Mike Fleiss follows as a husky single guy tries his hand at finding love with a group of plus-sized women. August 9 will see the launch of a Who Wants to Be a Millionaire special, airing in prime time for a two-week-long event honoring the tenth anniversary of the game-show series.
