C4 Announces First BVITV Pickups

LONDON, June 15: Channel 4 has announced its first new
show pickups from Buena Vista International Television (BVITV), taking the
novela adaptation Betty the Ugly and Calista FLockhart’s Brothers
& Sisters.

Betty the Ugly is the American
adapatation of the hit Colombian novela Betty la fea.
Executive produced by Salma Hayek, the show, about a plain jain secretary
working for a fashion magazine, stars British actress Ashley Jenson, from the
BBC’s Extras, in her first U.S. nework TV role.

Brothers & Sisters, marking Ally
McBeal’s Flockhart’s return to television, is a family drama from producer Ken
Olin (Alias) and Broadway playwright Jon Robin Baitz.
