Canada’s Buffalo Gal Pictures has launched Fiasco Global Media, a TV development company dedicated to creating character-driven stories rooted in the spirit of working-class communities and rural prairies.

Headquartered in Winnipeg and Los Angeles, Fiasco Global Media is set to expand Buffalo Gal’s international reach.

Fiasco’s slate is already growing. Early projects include a rural half-hour family workplace comedy series from writer Garry Campbell (North of North, Kids in the Hall, Less Than Kind) and a comedic two-hander police procedural from Hollis Ludlow-Carroll, creator of Wong & Winchester.

Fiasco Global Media is being led by Jennifer Beasley, a writer-turned-executive producer whose credits include Less Than Kind, Cra$h & Burn, The Spencer Sisters, Acting Good and the 2024 horror satire Rumours, starring Cate Blanchett.

Beasley is joined by Burrad Marsh, consulting head of U.S. series development. Marsh has held key executive roles at Alchemy, Shed Media, Outright Distribution and Amaze Film & TV. He also consults for the Canadian Consulate on cross-border content initiatives.

“We aim to make series that stick with audiences,” Beasley said. “Television narratives shouldn’t just reflect the lives we already live—they should offer windows into worlds where we can imagine something more. Our mission is simple: make the shows that captivate you now and that you will revisit when your kids’ kids are discovering them. Relatable and endlessly rewatchable, we’re here to create the kind of TV that feels like home–wherever home may be.”

“Marking Buffalo Gal’s 30th anniversary with Fiasco under Jennifer’s leadership will continue to highlight our ongoing commitment to discovering and empowering new voices,” noted Phyllis Laing, president of Buffalo Gal Pictures.

Marsh added, “At Fiasco, the aim is to launch series that don’t just entertain–they move in, rearrange the furniture and become part of your life.”
