Boomerang U.K. to Launch New Live-Action Comedy Series

LONDON, June 22: Turner Broadcasting System Europe’s
Boomerang channel will debut the new kids’ live-action comedy series My Spy
Family
in the U.K. this September.

My Spy Family is a
co-production between Turner Broadcasting and Kindle Entertainment, a new
independent production company that emerged from the closure of ITV Productions, Kids.

My Spy Family centers
on the Bannon family, who
find themselves squashed together in a house somewhere in the Midlands after
retiring from a lifetime of roaming international trouble spots by jet,
helicopter and missile-equipped sports cars. Trained to foil super
criminals, overthrow dictators and leap from planes without parachutes, the
Bannons realize that none of their
training or gadgetry has prepared them for ordinary everyday life.

Paul Alexander
brings his extensive writing experience to My Spy Family, having written for shows such as My Parents are
Aliens
, My
Family
and My
Hero.

Cecilia Persson, the VP of programming, acquisition and
presentation for Turner Kids, said: “My Spy Family marks a major investment in new comedy content for
Boomerang. Following on from the recent opening of the Cartoon Network
Development Studios in the U.K., we’re pleased to be able to continue our
support of original U.K. kids’ programming by commissioning a series that
promises to have an abundance of humor and appeal.”
