BET Lines Up Talent & Casting Exec. for Originals

LOS ANGELES: BET Networks has named Robi Reed as the VP of talent and casting for original programming, overseeing both scripted and non-scripted series.

Reed is based in Los Angeles. She recently cast BET’s newest scripted program Let’s Stay Together, a romantic comedy highlighting the modern relationships of five young African Americans. Reed joins the company with more than 50 films to her credit as a casting director. In addition to her film credits, Reed has also cast for TV series such as Girlfriends, Showtime’s Soulfood, The Tracey Morgan Show, A Different World, In Living Color and In The House.

“We are excited to have Robi on board, especially given her invaluable industry experience and strong connections in Hollywood,” said Loretha Jones, the president of original programming for BET Networks, to whom Reed will report. “Her unique skills and track record of success as a casting director in the motion picture and television industry complements our pledge to bring our viewers the best in black talent and entertainment.”
