BBC Worldwide to Offer Content on iTunes Store in the U.K.

LONDON, February 19: BBC
Worldwide has announced that a selection of programming from the British
pubcaster is now be available for purchase and download from the iTunes Store
in the U.K.

The BBC is the first
broadcaster in the U.K. to offer television programs on iTunes. BBC content
available through iTunes includes new dramas such as Ashes to Ashes, as well as series like Torchwood, Life On Mars, Little Britain, Spooks and Robin Hood. Content can be purchased for £1.89 per episode
and then viewed on a Mac or PC, iPod with video, iPhone or Apple TV.

This announcement follows
BBC Worldwide’s existing deals with online outlets such as YouTube and MySpace
and Project Kangaroo, its new VOD service with ITV and Channel 4 in the U.K.
