BBC Worldwide Names New Head for Indian Production Base

LONDON/MUMBAI: Myleeta Aga has been named general manager and creative head for BBC Worldwide India Productions, taking over from Saul Nassé, who is returning to the U.K. to become controller of learning at the BBC.

Aga will take up her new post at BBCW’s production base in Mumbai on October 14, reporting to Colin Jarvis, the director of international formats at BBC Wordlwide. She was previously content head and co-founder of the TV guide channel What’s On India. In the post, Aga will oversee the current productions Baby Borrowers for NDTV, Dancing with the Stars for Sony Entertainment and The Fast and the Gorgeous for MTV, among other projects. Nassé returns to the U.K. in November to take up his new post at the BBC in January.

"Myleeta brings a wealth of international experience, having worked in the television industry in America, Singapore, U.K., Indonesia and India," Jarvis said. "She has a great knowledge of what local broadcasters are looking for to entertain their audiences. Saul Nassé has done an excellent job establishing our base in Mumbai and now Myleeta’s role will be to take it to the next stage.”
