LOS ANGELES: Vlad Wolynetz is to join BBC Worldwide Productions as the senior VP of scripted production, working with the newly appointed VP of scripted programming Hugh Fitzpatrick.

Wolynetz takes up the new post next month. He comes to the role from AMC, where he served as VP of production, series and movies. He spent 15 years with AMC, having supervised a range of series in multiple formats, including the production of the network’s first original drama series, Mad Men, and first original movie, Broken Trail. Fitzpatrick joined earlier this month from William Morris Endeavor, where he was a television literary agent. Both men will be responsible for further developing the studio’s scripted slate, working with U.S. writers and U.K. creative talent.

Wolynetz and Fitzpatrick join the scripted team led by Julie Gardner, the senior VP of scripted and executive producer.

Jane Tranter, the executive VP of programming and production at BBC Worldwide Productions, said, “We could not be more thrilled to have Vlad and Hugh joining the BBC Worldwide Productions team. Vlad’s unparalleled talent, proven insight of the marketplace, and commitment to quality programming makes him the perfect addition to our current team of talented scripted executives. Hugh has already proven to be an incredible asset with his vast experience and proven success as a television literary agent.”
