BBC Worldwide, Dangerous Films Secure Deal

LONDON, May 3: BBC Worldwide’s Indie Unit has reached a
long-term development and distribution deal with independent producer Dangerous
Films.

Under the terms of
the agreement, BBC Worldwide will act as the international distributor and
co-producer for Dangerous Films’ forthcoming productions, including the
Five-commissioned biopic about the Princess of Wales, Diana—Last Days
of a Princess. BBC
Worldwide has struck a range of deals for the title in territories such as
France, Russia, Australia, Italy, Sweden and Spain.

Aine Doherty, the
head of factual at the Indie Unit, commented: “What excited us about cementing
our relationship with Dangerous is their abundant creative flair and ambition
to move into full-scale drama. It also allows us to increase our slate of
blue-chip specialist factual titles, but more importantly means that we now
have a bigger and more collaborative partnership with one of the most creative
and dynamic producers in this sector.”
