BBC Worldwide America to Produce U.S. Version of Dance Format

LONDON/NEW YORK, September 6: BBC Worldwide America will produce Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann, the U.S. version of the BBC dance
competition format DanceX,
for premiere this winter on ABC.

Drew Lachey, winner
of the second season of Dancing with the Stars, has been confirmed as the presenter of the
new series. Dance War
will air between seasons of the Emmy-nominated Dancing with the Stars, also produced by BBC Worldwide America. Dancing
with the Stars
is the U.S.
version of the British series Strictly Come Dancing. The fifth season of Dancing with the
Stars
begins on September
24.

Bruno Tonioli, who
stars in the BBC’s DanceX,
and Carrie Ann Inaba, both judges on Dancing with the Stars, will come face to face across the dance
floor as they search for a talented new dancing and singing group.

In addition to
producing Dancing with the Stars and Dance War,
BBC Worldwide America’s first scripted drama Viva Laughlin, based on the hit British series Blackpool, will air on CBS in October.
