BBC Studios Renews Yle Output Deal

BBC Studios and Yle have renewed their multi-genre output deal.

This is among BBC Studios’ most consistent relationships in EMEA, lasting some three decades. Yle maintains a first look at a range of content across its scripted and unscripted catalogue. Titles include Kingdom, the new Walking With Dinosaurs, Scandinavia with Simon Reeve and dramas such as Firebird Pictures’ Outrageous, Death Valley and Return to Paradise.

Janet Brown, president of global content sales at BBC Studios, said, “I am incredibly proud to be celebrating almost three decades of partnership with Yle. Our longstanding relationship is built on a shared ambition to bring entertaining, inspiring and informative stories to Finnish audiences. Our continued success in this market is testament to our ability to forge meaningful partnerships to deliver standout content to local audiences alongside our own branded services”.

Johanna Törn-Mangs, director of culture and factual content at Yle, added: “I’m delighted that we can continue our partnership with the BBC Studios. High-quality BBC Studios content is widely loved and valued by Finnish audiences. We are pleased that Yle is able to continue sharing new BBC Studios programmes with viewers in Finland.”
