PARIS/COPENHAGEN: Ahead of DISCOP, Banijay International has licensed nine episodes of its new entertainment format My Parents Are Gonna Love You in Eastern Europe.

Romanian channel Antenna has picked up the series, which is a lead offering for Banijay in Budapest. The format was scooped up by FOX in the U.S. ahead of its MIPTV launch. The pilot is currently in preproduction and filming is slated for July.

Also on the roster from Banijay for DISCOP is the new reality series Dilemma, which will be making its official international debut. The show premiered on May 20 on M6’s digital terrestrial channel W9 in France, where it more than doubled the channel’s average prime-time share. Next up in the way of formats is On Stage With My Idol, originally created for TF1 in France.

In addition to its format catalogue, Banijay has a number of finished programs, including a range acquired through the addition of the U.S. production company Bunim-Murray to the Banijay Group. Highlights include Love Games, a dating show that includes former stars of the series Bad Girls Club; Dr. Steve-O, featuring notorious daredevil Steve-O; and Styl’d, a competition series for stylists.

Karoline Spodsberg, the managing director at Banijay International, said, “My Parents Are Gonna Love You is creating a lot of buzz in the marketplace right now as a truly fun and entertaining show. We are delighted to be attending DISCOP East for the first time as Banijay International and can’t wait to showcase our lineup to our valued Eastern European clients. It’s bold and original, while remaining cost effective and versatile.”
