Banijay Launches Global Distribution Division

PARIS/COPENHAGEN: Banijay Entertainment Group has created a new distribution division, Banijay International, incorporating Nordisk Film TV World, which it acquired last October.

Banijay International will distribute all formats and finished programming produced by Banijay Entertainment companies, including The Missionaries, 71 Degrees North, My Big Fat Parents and more. Karoline Spodsberg, currently the international director at Nordisk Film TV World, will be managing director of Banijay International, which will have offices in Paris and Copenhagen, staffed with current members of the Nordisk Film TV World and Banijay Entertainment distribution teams.

François de Brugada, executive VP of creative and commercial affairs at Banijay Entertainment, noted: "We are delighted to have someone of Karoline’s talent and experience at the helm of our new global distribution division. She brings to the table a unique set of valuable skills, having built a thriving international business from a standing start at Nordisk TV World. As we continue to expand our portfolio, fulfilling our ambition to become a leader in the world’s media markets, it is imperative that we optimise the value of our international brands.”

Spodsberg, who will report directly to de Brugada, added: "We can now harness the combined creativity, market knowledge and business values of the whole group to build a company with great vision and conviction. We have the bespoke approach of a boutique distributor with the muscle of a large, cost effective group structure behind us.”
