Azteca América to Launch News Studio

LOS ANGELES, March 21: The U.S. Hispanic network Azteca América has reached an agreement with its parent company TV Azteca to open a news studio in Mexico City, which is slated to begin broadcasting the week of April 14.

The Mexico City-based news studio will supplement news programming delivered by Azteca América’s U.S.-based team of correspondents and crew. Azteca América’s two news broadcasts will continue at 5:30 p.m. and 11 p.m., along with the local news broadcasts in Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston and Las Vegas at their regularly scheduled times.

Azteca América  will continue to have news crews and reporters in Los Angeles and other parts of California, Chicago, Washington, DC, Dallas, Houston and Las Vegas.

Wholly owned by Mexican broadcaster TV Azteca, Azteca América  has access to programming from TV Azteca’s three national networks, including a library with more than 200,000 hours of original programming and news from local bureaus in 32 Mexican states.
