AXN Takes Falling Skies to Asia

SINGAPORE: Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia has scored the rights to TNT’s hit summer series Falling Skies for broadcast on AXN Beyond in Southeast Asia and AXN in Taiwan, India and Korea.

Acquired from Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, the series—from DreamWorks Television, TNT Productions and executive producer Steven Spielberg—will roll out in the region later this year. “The launch of Falling Skies internationally promises to be a global television event,” said Steve Koonin, the president of Turner Entertainment Networks. “We’re excited that people throughout Asia will be able to experience this great new series along with 75 other countries and regions around the world.”

Ricky Ow, senior VP and general manager for SPT’s networks in Asia, added, "Our viewers across 15 territories will soon have a new, gripping series to look forward to. We are confident that Falling Skies is set to capture the imagination of even more viewers."
