Audiovisual From Spain Heads to NATPE

MADRID: Audiovisual From Spain has ten companies exhibiting at NATPE, highlighting a range of Spanish independent film productions, animation, TV and multiplatform services.

Touting a range of factual product are CINTV and Explora Films. CINTV is offering A World Apart, a 13×1-hour HD docu-series that looks at indigenous cultures of the 21st century. Explora Films is presenting The Jewel, about the ancient civilization of the Chachapoyas of Peru. Other HD product on offer from Explora includes Crocodiles: The Last Dragon and Pedestrian Crossing.

In the children’s category, BKN New Media, Motion Pictures, Imira Entertainment and Edebe Audiovisual are all on hand at NATPE. Edebe is offer the animated series Edebits, an eco series dubbed into neutral Castilian. Motion Pictures highlights Glumpers, a 3D, multiplatform, dialogue-free comedy series. BKN New Media’s slate includes El Zorro: Generacion Z, as well as Joshua Black: The Agency and educational series Lua y el Mundo.

Further Spanish exhibitors with Audiovisual From Spain include news agency EFE, which launched a new video service aimed at the Latin digital media market, TVEFE; Plural Entertainment, which recently closed a deal with V-me; and ZZJ.

Fabia Buenaventura, the general director of the Federation of Audiovisual Producers Associations of Spain (FAPAE), commented: "Spanish audiovisual has always had a great reception from American audiences and has been a phenomenon of mutual appreciation.”

Buenaventura added: “In our industry, there is an important constant flow of ideas that materialize every day between Latin America and Spain. In 2010 we would like to strengthen these links. Due to the excellent relationship, we want to encourage close and personal contacts between the American executives and programmers and the Spanish professionals.”
