Asian Lifestyle Channel Takes Scripps Titles

KUALA LUMPUR: Li: Life Inspired, a new Asian lifestyle channel, has picked up a host of programming from Scripps Networks‘ HGTV and Food Network brands.

Included in the deal are titles such as HGTV Design Star, Deserving Design, Color Splash, Iron Chef America, Everyday Italian and 30-Minute Meals. Much of the content will be in HD across Li’s Southeast Asian footprint. The channel is billing itself as the first high-definition pan-regional lifestyle channel in the region. It is currently available on Singapore’s mioTV, delivering content around food, the home, wellness, travel and style.

Anne Chan, the general manager of Li TV, stated: “With Scripps’ vast library of quality lifestyle programs in high definition, this is a testimony for Li’s lifestyle content strategy. The lifestyle needs of our Asian viewers are constantly evolving and this was carefully conceptualized to fulfil the demands of today’s Asian urban trendsetter. Scripps programming is a great fit and further strengthens Li’s appeal to affluent Asian audiences, who have an appetite for quality high-definition programming. In addition to our stable of Asian programs, we have plans in the pipeline to produce and air Asian titles of strong local relevance to showcase the latest and the best lifestyle trends around the continent right now. We’re confident that these shows will fit perfectly with our upscale audiences, especially with our rapid expansion across other Asian territories in the next 12 months post Singapore and Indonesia.”

Greg Moyer, the president of Scripps Networks International, added, “We are pleased to be working with the Li TV team and to have Scripps’ content on the newly launched channel. This distribution demonstrates the world-wide popularity of Scripps Networks lifestyle programming and the growing demand for high-definition content in the region.”
