Asian Licensees in Place for Pocoyo

LOS ANGELES: Zinkia Entertainment has signed up new licensing partners for Pocoyo across Asia.

Beijing Kaku Cartoon Culture and Skynet Asia Culture Communication are joint commercial agents for bringing the brand into the People’s Republic of China. New licensing partners include Higher Education Press, which will work on story and picture books as well as education books; ChongQing Tianjian Cartoon Animation Culture Co., which will publish magazine books; Megasoft (Fujian) Hygiene Products, to create diapers, wipes and other baby products; and Starwin Cultural Communications, to distribution DVDs and VCDs.

In Malaysia, Cuang Chen Mao Yi secured the rights for home textiles, while Twenty Three Networks Marketing scooped the rights for dinnerware, bottles, bags, stationery and boxes for Malaysia and Singapore. In the Philippines, Eastern RisingSun International is to develop furniture, infant wear and infant feeding accessories. Tokyo1 of Indonesia is on board for plastic kitchen accessories and food containers, while PT Sumber Diva Gemilang is developing a line of stationery items.

“The Pocoyo licensing program has been very successful, from its earliest product introduction in Europe to its recent launch into the Americas,” said Maria Doolan, the managing director for brand and business development at Zinkia Entertainment. “Now, we are focusing on building our licensing program throughout Asia and are very encouraged by the enthusiastic response we have so far encountered.”
