AOL, Clickstar to Promote Broadband Premiere of Lonely Hearts

SANTA MONICA, April 27: ClickStar has reached a deal with AOL for the exclusive promotion of its broadband premiere of the film Lonely Hearts—featuring Salma Hayek and John Travolta—which is now available for a limited number of free downloads via AOL Video starting from today.

Clickstar is a digital entertainment venture founded by Morgan Freeman’s Revelations Entertainment with investment from Intel Corporation. Under the agreement between Clickstar, Intel and AOL, a limited number of AOL Video users will be able to download a complimentary full-length digital copy of the film via the AOL Video portal at www.lonelyhearts.aolvideo.com. The film will be promoted extensively on AOL Video as well as on Moviefone.com, and will be available from Clickstar at CStar.com.

Lonely Hearts opened in theaters on April 13 in New York and Los Angeles. It was written and directed by Todd Robinson and features an ensemble cast that includes John Travolta, James Gandolfini, Jared Leto, Salma Hayek, Scott Caan and Laura Dern. The film is based on the true story of a young couple’s notorious crime spree in the late 1940s and the detectives obsessed with their capture. The movie is being distributed in theaters domestically by Roadside Attractions and Samuel Goldwyn Films.

“We’re excited to work with ClickStar to make this new feature film available as an exclusive offering to AOL users,” said Kevin Conroy, the EVP of AOL. "Each month, more than 20 million users visit AOL Video to find, watch, and share millions of videos. Showcasing the online premiere of Lonely Hearts is a great way to do something nice for AOL users by providing them with this gift of high-quality, branded programming.”
