Animated Doodlebops Set for CBC Debut

TORONTO: Doodlebops Rockin’ Road Show, an animated take on Cookie Jar’s hit Doodlebops live-action series, is slated to premiere on Kids’ CBC on February 20.

The series, a co-production with Illusion Studios in Argentina and OPTIX Entertainment in Germany, will air Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. and Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. It takes kids on animated musical adventures with Deedee, Rooney and Moe Doodle and their new dog BopBop, helping young ones to solve preschool-relatable problems by hopping on their magical tour bus and journeying to a fun new destination in each episode. Each of the 26 half-hour episodes will feature two new original songs by the cast members of the live-action show, who also voice the animated characters.

"Doodlebops Rockin’ Road Show is such a great addition to the Kids’ CBC schedule," said Kim Wilson, the creative head of children’s and youth programming at the CBC. "We know how much our young viewers love music, and how key music is to strengthening their educational, physical and emotional development. It’s a perfect fit and complements our other key learning areas, like literacy and science."

“We’re thrilled to partner once again with Kids’ CBC to bring this fantastic new animated show to Doodlebops fans throughout Canada,” said Jamie Waese, the head of current programming at Cookie Jar Entertainment. “We are certain that the show’s positive messages and exciting music will continue to resonate with fans of the popular, long-running live-action series as well as a new generation of fans.”
