AMC Sets Date for Mad Men’s Return

NEW YORK: Cable channel AMC is set to launch season three of its critically acclaimed original drama Mad Men on August 16 at 10 p.m., with the premiere to air with limited commercial interruptions.

Leading up to the highly anticipated new season will be a Mad Men marathon on August 10 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. featuring all 13 episodes of the second season. AMC has also added season one to its On Demand offering, and will add season two on July 20. The show’s pilot episode is also available now for live streaming on www.amctv.com.

The Lionsgate-produced show, set in an ad agency in the 1960s, premiered in July 2007 and went on to win a host of awards, including the Emmy for outstanding drama—the first ever for a basic cable series. It is also the only basic cable series to win the Golden Globe award two years in a row for best TV series drama. Mad Men is created, written and executive produced by Matthew Weiner.
