AMC Networks’ U.S. Revenues Slip in Q3

In the third quarter, AMC Networks’ total domestic revenues dropped 8 percent from the prior year to $486 million, despite streaming revenues increasing 14 percent to $174 million.

In the U.S., total subscription revenues remained consistent with the prior period at $316 million. As aforementioned, revenues from the streaming segment increased to $174 million, primarily due to price increases. Streaming subscribers went up 2 percent to 10.4 million.

Domestic content licensing decreased 27 percent to $59 million and advertising revenues slipped 17 percent to $110 million, primarily due to linear ratings decline.

International revenues increased 5 percent from the prior year to $77 million, with subscription revenues slipping 1 percent to $48 million, primarily due to the non-renewal of a distribution agreement in Spain in the fourth quarter of 2024. International advertising revenues increased 15 percent to $26 million due to strong advertising performance in the U.K. and Ireland.

“Our performance in the third quarter marks a key milestone in our transition from a cable networks business to a global streaming and technology focused content company,” said CEO Kristin Dolan. “Streaming revenue growth accelerated and will represent our largest single source of domestic revenue this year. We again delivered healthy free cash flow and remain on track to achieve our increased outlook of $250 million in free cash for the full year. We have built the components of a modern media business that is nimble, independent and well-suited to today’s environment and whatever comes next.”
