ALL3MEDIA Boosts Investment in Factual

LONDON: ALL3MEDIA International has set up a development fund for new factual productions, covering a number of genres.

Maartje Horchner, the head of acquisitions at ALL3MEDIA, said, “We are looking to establish partnerships with a diverse range of new and established producers. Our factual portfolio continues to sell strongly around the world and we are looking to utilize this development fund, alongside our extensive international expertise, to secure some exciting new projects for 2011. We are open to all content with global potential, especially human interest documentaries and hour long series as well as 12 episode plus half-hour series in the reality genre.”

Also at ALL3MEDIA, the first new sales have been secured for the ITV 2 hit The Only Way is Essex. The new factual-entertainment reality show from Lime Pictures has been sold to XYZ Entertainment (Australia), SBS (Netherlands) and TV4 (Sweden). A new season has also been commissioned.
 
The company is also highlighting The Spice Trail, acquired by SBS Australia, which follows Kate Humble on a part history, part modern-day odyssey to discover the most coveted spices in the world and East to West.

The one-hour special Faith Schools Menace? from Barnes Hassid Productions for More 4 in the U.K. features renowned atheist, evolutionary biologist and globally best-selling author Professor Richard Dawkins as he considers the consequences of faith education, featuring insight from leading politicians, religious figures and child psychologists as well as parents and students. 
 
Tim Wonnacott and Rosemary Shrager follow in Queen Victoria’s footsteps in Royal Upstairs Downstairs. The series takes viewers through some of the most beautiful houses in Britain, to see what life was like for servants and guests in finery during Royal visits.
 
From ALL3MEDIA’s natural history catalogue comes Wild River Journeys, which has already sold to Multicanal Iberia (Spain, Portugal) and Chello Central Europe (Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia). 
 
The Serious… children’s adventure strand returns with a new expedition in Serious Explorers: Livingstone. The series follows as seven youngsters head to Africa to follow in the footsteps of the world-famous explorer.
