AFM Selects Favorite Film Pitch Nominees

LOS ANGELES: The American Film Market (AFM) has announced the five nominees for its first Favorite Film Pitch award, launched in partnership with the People’s Choice Awards. 

During the 2010 People’s Choice Awards, which aired January 6, fans were given the chance to begin voting at peopleschoice.com for the pitch they would most like to see made into a film. The voting is open through January 20. 

The nominees are Stephanie Bell (The Devil of Appalachia), Carlo Besasie (All The Queen’s Men), Mouncey Ferguson (Forger), Barry Kneller (The Mechanics) and David Minnihan (Father John). In addition to receiving the Favorite Film Pitch award, the winner will receive an AFM 2010 package that includes full access for two to the AFM, including seminars and conferences; airfare for two to Los Angeles; hotel for five nights in Santa Monica; and scheduled meetings with producers and distributors.
