A&E Rolls Out Minisite for Andromeda Strain

NEW YORK, April 29:
A&E Network has prepared a minisite to coincide with the two-night,
four-hour broadcast of the new drama The Andromeda Strain, which airs in high definition May 26 and 27 at 9
p.m.

The minisite, at
www.theandromedastrain.com, will feature a four-week long serial game, where
players investigate, treat and contain unknown biological threats before
they’ve taken their toll on the world. The game features four levels, with a
new virus revealed each week starting May 5. The site also features photos,
bios, downloadable wallpapers, AIM avatars and movie posters, in addition to
behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with cast members and filmmakers.

In The Andromeda Strain, a U.S. military satellite crashes in a small
town, spreading a deadly plague and killing all but two survivors. The military
quarantines the area, as specialized scientists team up to find a cure for the
pathogen and a reporter investigates the government conspiracy that may be
behind it all. The program is produced by Scott Free Productions and Traveler’s
Rest Films in association with Universal Pictures for A&E Network.
Executive producers are Ridley Scott, Tony Scott and David W. Zucker for Scott Free and Tom Thayer for
Traveler’s Rest Films.
