NEW YORK: A+E Networks will celebrate its 20th anniversary of international business at MIPCOM, where the company is slated to showcase such scripted titles as Roots, And Then There Were None and UnREAL, all of which are distributed by A+E Studios International.

Roots is a television event based on the book penned by Alex Haley. The 4×2-hour A+E Studios production, which is a historical portrait of American slavery, stars Laurence Fishburne, Forest Whitaker, Anna Paquin, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Anika Noni Rose. It will simulcast on HISTORY, A&E and Lifetime in the U.S.

UnREAL stars Shiri Appleby and Constance Zimmer will be in Cannes to promote the second season of the hit Lifetime series made by A+E Studios. Also attending the market will be Sarah Phelps, writer and exec producer of And Then There Were None, an adaptation of Agatha Christie's novel that stars Douglas Booth, Charles Dance, Maeve Dermody and Burn Gorman, among others. That title is co-produced by Agatha Christie Productions, RLJ Entertainment and Mammoth Screen for BBC One and Lifetime.

"A year after launching A+E Studios International, our slate of premium scripted series, events and movies continues to grow," said Joel Denton, A+E Networks' managing director of international content sales and partnerships. "Our programs are attracting the A-list talent that our clients and their viewers demand, both in front of and behind the camera. To that end, we are very pleased to be joined at MIPCOM by Shiri, Constance and Sarah, who are graciously helping spread the word about their respective projects."

Other MIPCOM highlights from A+E Networks are The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe, a two-part miniseries about the titular sex symbol, and Manson's Lost Girls, which tells the true tale of Charles Manson's cult and the murders they committed. Both titles are produced by Asylum Entertainment for Lifetime.

Denton added: "Looking ahead, we have a number of projects in development that will further enhance our offering. We're particularly excited about projects like Knightfall, which is being developed by A+E Studios in association with Jeremy Renner and Don Handfield's production company, The Combine and Midnight Radio."
