ABC TV Exec Upped to Head of Content Creation

SYDNEY, August 20: Courtney Gibson, currently the head of
arts, entertainment and comedy at ABC TV in Australia, has been appointed the
network’s executive head of content creation, effective November 5.

In this newly created position, Gibson will lead and manage
all of ABC TV’s content development and production across all genres, except
children’s.

Gibson has been with ABC TV since 2003 and has led the
department that has produced and commissioned some of the network’s most
recognized programming, including Spicks & Specks, The Chaser War on Everything, New
Inventors, The Einstein Factor
and We
Can Be Heroes
, among others. Prior to ABC
TV, Gibson worked as a commissioning editor in documentary for SBS Independent
and in the U.K. as a producer on several Channel 4 programs.
