ABC Family to Launch New Reality Series

BURBANK, December 3: ABC Family will roll out a new 6×1-hour reality series, titled America’s Prom Queen.

Several high school-aged girls will be selected to compete in a series of weekly challenges and eliminations, as a Prom Committee narrows down the finalists for the Prom Court. Once a Prom Court has been established, viewers will vote for who they think should be crowned America’s Prom Queen, culminating with an ABC Family-hosted Prom attended by the entire cast and their dates. Casting for the series will begin immediately.

Patty Ivins and Julie Pizzi will serve as executive producers for America’s Prom Queen. Together, the two have executive produced NBC’s Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Model Search, Showtime’s Reversal of Fortune and two seasons of Style’s Dress My Nest, as well as co-executive produced Fox’s The Simple Life Reunion.

“This is a great show for our Millennial audience," said ABC Family’s president, Paul Lee. "Patty Ivins and Julie Pizzi are producing a show for us that will be packed with all of the drama, emotion, rivalry and friendship that go into choosing America’s Prom Queen."
