LONDON: Paul Curtis is to take up the newly created role of VP of commercial strategy for NBC Universal Global Networks’ U.K. portfolio of channels: SCI FI, Hallmark Channel, Movies 24 and Diva TV.

Former deputy managing director of BSkyB Sky Media, Curtis will join the company next month, reporting to Laurence Dawkin-Jones, the managing director for the U.K. at NBC Universal Global Networks. Before joining Sky Media, Curtis spent three years at MTV Networks Europe as managing director for Viacom Brand Solutions. Prior to this, he was part of the Five launch team.

“Paul will play a key role in advancing NBC Universal’s ambitious growth plans in the U.K.,” said Dawkin-Jones. “His wealth of experience in both sales and strategy makes him ideally suited to lead our commercial initiatives.”

Curtis added: "I am excited to be joining a TV company with real ambition and significant backing. The next two years will be pivotal for both NBC Universal and the industry as a whole."
