Country Star Signs On for ITV Studios’ Series

LOS ANGELES: ITV Studios, Roberts/David Films and Sony/ATV Music Publishing have teamed up to develop current and classic country music hits into a series of one-hour dramatic episodes for the anthology series American Storytellers, which Grammy-winning recording artist Clint Black will executive produce.

American Storytellers will spotlights the lives, loves, adventures, joys and tragedies that have been put to music by performers and songwriters of past and present. Mark Roberts and Lorena David brought the project to ITV Studios and will executive produce along with Joel C. High of Creative Control Entertainment. Talks are underway with some of the top artists associated with country music in relation to roles on both sides of the camera.

Black, who had a string of number one hits throughout the ’90s and won a Grammy in 1998 for his participation in the all-star single "Same Old Train," is also an accomplished music video director.

“Clint Black is among the elite of country music and having him involved with this series will elevate it on many levels,” said Roberts. “He is a master storyteller through both his music and his video productions and is held in high regard by all segments of the entertainment industry.”
