New Content Partners Join Joost

NEW YORK/LONDON: The online video service Joost has signed up 12 new content partners to add to its programming library, among them Marvel Entertainment.

Atlas Media will launch the original travel series Mysterious Places from its Atlas Digital division on Joost, alongside specials like Alien Abduction and series such as Exotic Islands and Skeleton Stories. Also among the new suppliers is Blastro Networks, which will provide Joost with artist interviews, live performances, studio sessions and festival coverage from two properties: Blastro, an urban-centric site for hip-hop, R&B, pop, Latin and dance fans; and Roxwel, which caters to a rock, metal and indie music fan base. Davis-Panzer Productions will distribute Highlander: The Series and Highlander: Raven on Joost, while MWG Entertainment brings web series aimed at a female audience, with offerings such as My Two Fans and Road to the Altar.

Marvel Entertainment brings its renowned stable of super heroes to life in animated and feature films and television series. The Marvel Entertainment offering on Joost includes Marvel movie and game trailers featuring properties such as X-Men, Iron Man and Hulk, as well as red carpet, behind-the-scenes and interviews with Marvel product creators. RDF Digital USA has also joined the Joost offerings, bringing Banzai, a comedic faux-Japanese game show that involves betting on bizarre contests, to the service.

Further new partners for Joost include ReelzChannel, bringing pop-culture and Hollywood programming from its ReelzChannel TV stable; Salient Media, a full-service production and distribution studio at Vivendi/Universal that will provide a variety of long- and short-form stand-up comedy programs; and Scott Entertainment, with programming from its AmPopFilms brand, which includes content from classic movies to cult hits.

Also providing Joost new content are Speed Racer Enterprises, offering both the remastered edition of the classic Speed Racer animated TV series from the 1960s and episodes of Speed Racer: The Next Generation, and TOEI Animation, a Japanese outfit providing seven anime series for the video service. The online entertainment network Vogue.TV will be providing programs that explore fashion, beauty and culture.

All of these content partners, with the exception of Marvel Entertainment, ReelzChannel, RDF Digital USA and TOEI Animation, are making their content available to a global audience; Speed Racer Enterprises will be available globally outside of Japan. Programming is available on Joost.com and on the Joost application for the iPhone and iPod touch.
