More Deals on Zorro: Generation Z

LONDON: TV Azteca in Mexico and Sun TV in India are among the latest broadcasters to sign on for BKN New Media’s Zorro: Generation Z.

TV Azteca and Sun TV both went for the first season of 26 22-minute episodes, as did TVE in Spain. TVE and Record TV in Brazil also scooped up a second season in HD, scheduled for fall 2010. This modern take of the classic character has been sold into a number of territories, including a recent deal in Greece with On Demand Management.

Laura Tapias, the managing director of BKN New Media SL in Barcelona, said: “The property continues to build and we are signing up many product licensees in each country. For example, Doricart for calendars and backpacks and Marini Silvano for apparel in Italy; Pernanbucanas for bed linens and KG Line for back to school in Brazil, Brisa Jardin for bed linens and Tecnitoys for car and motorbike slots in Spain, and Giovas for stationery and back-to-school and Markidis for Easter eggs in Greece."

Tapias added: "These international activities will continue to stimulate brand awareness through fall and well into 2011 when the second season will launch in its high-definition format. Some licensees have already met their sales expectations and are increasing their product offerings."
