U.S. Postage Stamps to Feature The Simpsons

WASHINGTON, D.C.: The long-running FOX series The Simpsons is being commemorated by the U.S. Postal Service on 44-cent first-class mail stamps, which will feature the characters of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie.

The stamps have been personally designed by The Simpsons creator and executive Matt Groening, and will be available for a sneak peek on April 9 on usps.com. The series is the winner of 24 Emmy Awards, among other accolades, and is the longest-running prime-time comedy in TV history, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

"This has been a dream for Fox and The Simpsons creative teams for some time and we are very proud to have been granted this honor," said Elie Dekel, the executive VP of Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising. "The timing couldn’t be better as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show."
