Low Viewership for Emmy Ceremony

LOS ANGELES, September 23:
Sunday night’s Primetime Emmy Awards drew one of the smallest audiences in the
history of the ceremony.

According to preliminary
Nielsen data, only 12.2 million viewers, equaling a 3.8 rating and 9 share
among Adults 18-49, watched the Emmy Awards, placing it second in its time slot
behind NBC's NFL game.

Nonetheless, the 60th
annual Primetime Emmy Awards delivered ABC's largest audience in the three-hour
time period from 8 to 11 p.m. since mid-May.
