Rachel Allen Signs Talent Deal with UKTV Food

LONDON, August 28: UKTV
Food has commissioned a new series for its fourth-quarter schedule, Rachel
Allen: Bake!, also signing Allen
to a wider deal that sees her as the face of its online companion site and
joining the lineup of Market Kitchen presenters.

Rachel Allen: Bake! will be stripped across weeknights for three weeks,
shot in studio and on location throughout the U.K. The format of the show will
include video inserts of Allen visiting modern bakers and looking at
establishments that are pushing the boundaries of baking. Allen will also be
the face of uktvfood.co.uk, providing tips and recipes.

Jane Rogerson, UKTV's director of commissioning, factual and lifestyle,
who brokered the talent deal, said: “We’re delighted to have secured the
talented Rachel Allen, the best thing since sliced bread, not only for her
first UKTV Food commission but also as the face of uktvfood.co.uk. It’s
fantastic to be working on this series with Cactus who have a great track
record in this area. We already have the U.K.’s leading commercial food website
and this signing shows that we have the kudos to pull in credible and
high-profile names to front the site.”
