SCI FI U.K. Scores Eli Stone

LONDON, August 21: SCI FI in the U.K. has picked up the
British pay-TV rights for seasons one and two of the ABC drama Eli Stone from Disney-ABC-ESPN Television.

The agreement also includes first-run rights against all
U.K. pay and free-to-air television channels. In the ABC Studios-produced
series, British actor Jonny Lee Miller plays an ambitious lawyer whose life is
completely transformed by a series of strange hallucinations.

Jon Farrar, the programming director at NBC Universal Global
Networks, said, “It’s a real coup to bring Eli Stone to the U.K. We’re especially thrilled that it’s in
such an inventive and uplifting fantasy that fits in so perfectly with our
channel brand. SCI FI was the first to bring the critically acclaimed Heroes and Tin Man to the U.K., and Eli Stone
has that same ‘event’ feel of being something special. We expect it to bring in
a huge mainstream audience who will find its mix of celebrity, comedy, emotion
and drama especially endearing.”
