New Programming Slated for Corus Kids’ Channels

TORONTO, August 13: Corus
Entertainment has prepped a range of programs to join the schedules of
Treehouse, Discovery Kids Canada and YTV, including a new three-hour
programming block that features a host of Nickelodeon shows.

The new Nickelodeon
Sundays
block on YTV will include
series such as The Fairly OddParents, Back at the Barnyard,
SpongeBob SquarePants, The
Mighty B
, iCarly and The Naked Brothers Band. Other highlights on YTV’s fall schedule include Wolverine
and the X-Men
, which debuts
September 6 at 7 p.m.; Big Fun Fridays, a programming block that launches September 5 at 6 p.m.; and The
Mr. Men Show
, which will debut
September 3 at 2:30 p.m., but will air regularly on Mondays, Wednesdays and
Fridays. The channel will feature a range of new movies for fall, including She's
the Man
, Aquamarine, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, The Addams Family and Yours, Mine and Ours.

Discovery Kids will also
feature new series in its lineup: SciQ and Willa’s Wild Life.
Produced by Corus’s Nelvana Studios, Willa’s Wild Life follows a young girl who has adopted a number of
exotic animals. The show will debut on September 1 at 6 p.m., with the science
program SciQ launching at 7
p.m. New seasons and episodes for returning series on Discovery Kids include Are
We There Yet?: World Adventure
, Bindi,
The Jungle Girl
, Cyberchase, Endurance, Ghost Trackers, Grossology, Prank Patrol and The Zula Patrol.

Programming highlights on
Treehouse’s fall grid include the long-running series Sesame Street; The Adventures of Bert and Ernie, a new package of five-minute interstitials that
feature claymation versions of the eponymous characters; Toot & Puddle, based on a series of books by Holly Hobbie; and Odd-Jobbers, which tells the story of four Mendits who live in
a small village known as Patchville. Returning to Treehouse this season are new
episodes of Barney, Boblins, Bob the Builder, Dora the Explorer, Koala Brothers, Ni Hao, Kai Lan, Play With Me Sesame, Roll Play and The Wonder Pets!
