Documentary Channel to Broadcast Iraq War Programming

NASHVILLE, August 5:
Documentary Channel will air two programs about the Iraq war during the
network’s Primetime Premieres
on August 18.

The event will begin with
the exclusive U.S. television premiere of The Price for Paradise at 8 p.m. The documentary features candid
interviews with Iraqi citizens and refugees as they discuss their daily
struggles. My War, My Story,
which follows 18 U.S. war veterans as they adjust to life after returning home,
will air at 9 p.m.

A new episode of Treasures
of the Academy
, focusing on the
importance of film preservation, will air in between the two documentaries at
8:30 p.m.

Tom Neff, the founder and
CEO of Documentary Channel, said: “The Iraq war is fraught with controversies
from many directions, and it is important to offer our viewers films that
document more in-depth viewpoints than those typically presented in the network
news cycle. We hope that by presenting two under-publicized perspectives of
Iraqis and U.S. service men, it will help build a greater understanding of this
current conflict in Iraq and its residual effects.”
