STAR Chinese Movies 2 Joins nowTV Lineup

HONG KONG, July 10: STAR is launching STAR Chinese Movies 2
this month on PCCW’s nowTV platform in Hong Kong, following successful rollouts
in Singapore and North America, featuring local movies from the ‘70s to the
‘90s in Cantonese and Mandarin.

It will kick off July 21 with a Bruce Lee Retrospective, featuring the legend’s masterpieces as a tribute
during the 35th anniversary of his death. Other titles to appear on the channel
include John Woo and Chow Yun Fat’s A Better Tomorrow series, Jackie Chan’s Police Story franchise, Jet Li’s Once Upon A Time series, Stephen Chow’s slapstick comedies and
award-winning dramas starring Maggie Cheung and Anita Mui. The channel’s
programming will include Chinese titles across the genres of martial arts,
action, thriller, comedy, drama and romance.

STAR Chinese Movies 2 is the sister channel to STAR Chinese
Movies, which is the number one Chinese movie channel in Hong Kong, Taiwan,
Singapore and the Philippines. Content is drawn from output deals with studios
in Hong Kong, including Media Asia Distribution, Emperor Motion Pictures, JCE
Movies, Universe International, Filmko and China Star.

Jason Siu, the general manager of STAR Taiwan, which oversees
STAR’s Chinese movie channel operations, said: “Since launching STAR Chinese

viewers, who have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to watch many of the

made our flagship Chinese movie channel STAR Chinese Movies the most popular
