Kolsrud Joins MGM

LOS ANGELES, June 17: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer
Studios (MGM) has named Dan Kolsrud to the newly created post of executive VP
of worldwide theatrical physical production.

Kolsrud joins Cale Boyter,
the executive VP of development, and Becky Sloviter, the VP of production, as
another member of the new executive team of Mary Parent, the chairman of the
worldwide motion picture group at MGM. Parent’s team will be charged with
rebuilding MGM's theatrical development, production, distribution and marketing
operations.

Most recently, Kolsrud
served as the executive producer on the adaptation of Cirque du Freak, starring John C. Reilly, for Universal Pictures.
Involved in both feature films and television throughout his career, Kolsrud
spent the past 20 years working on such films as L.A. Confidential for New Regency; Seven for New Line; Richie Rich, Grumpy Old Men and Impulse for Warner Bros.; The Fog,
Are We There Yet?, 13 Going
on 30
and Daddy Day Care for Revolution; Serving Sara for Mandalay; and Bicentennial Man and Mystery, Alaska for Disney.

Kolsrud's other
feature-film credits include co-producing Joel Schumacher's Falling Down and producing John Carpenter's Memoirs of an
Invisible Man
for Warner Bros. As
the first assistant director, Kolsrud worked on such films as Men Don't
Leave
, Like Father, Like Son, Spaceballs, Howard the Duck, Top
Gun
, The Goonies, Gorky Park, Going Berserk, Something
Wicked This Way Comes
, Ghost
Story
, Xanadu, Coal Miner's Daughter, Lace and
Fatal Vision.
