Music Promotion Tie-In for CBS’s Swingtown

NEW YORK/LONDON, June 4:
Beginning tomorrow, music featured on the new CBS summer drama Swingtown will receive an on-screen plug, directing viewers
to Last.fm, the CBS-owned Internet radio and music community website, to hear
more songs featured on the show.

From the directors of Big
Love
and Rome, Swingtown follows two generations of friends and neighbors as they explore the
new freedoms and cultural transformations of the 1970s. The series will feature
music from some of decade’s most renowned artists, including David Bowie, The
Commodores and Captain & Tennille.

"Music plays such an important role in Swingtown, and that provided the
perfect opportunity to help promote Last.fm, which features many of the same
songs in its extensive library," said George Schweitzer, the president of
the CBS Marketing Group. "It’s a unique cross-promotion that is entirely
organic to the show, and provides our viewers a new way to engage with our
programming while bringing new exposure to Last.fm."

"This promotion will enable us to add to Last.fm a unique layer of
engagement to the series and the fan experience," added Martin Stiksel,
Last.fm’s co-founder. "We look forward to creating more interactive
opportunities with CBS, and bringing our passionate community and unparalleled
music catalogue to new audiences."
