TV-Loonland, CarpeDiem Film & TV Greenlight Tween Series

MUNICH/LONDON, June 2:
TV-Loonland and Canada’s CarpeDiem Film & TV have begun production on their
new digitally animated manga-style series My Life Me, backed by TELETOON Canada and French broadcasters
France 2 and Canal J.

TV-Loonland will handle
all international distribution rights in all media, including licensing and
merchandising. The project was co-created by JC Little, Cindy Filipenko and
manga star Svetlana Chmakova.

My Life Me is a new 52×11-minute animated comedy aimed at kids
aged 8 to 12, based around four lead characters trying to make sense of tween
life. Produced entirely in digital animation, this series uses various comic
book manga codes and black-and-white comic-book panels dropping behind the
characters to express their suppressed feelings on screen.

Furthermore, there will be
a licensing and merchandising program to support the brand, with an emphasis on
publishing, accessories, gifts, stationery and apparel, as well as an
interactive website that is currently in production. This website is based on
the themes behind the show and allows viewers to create their own manga comics
using either tutorials teaching them how to draw in this particular style or
actual images from the series to reinvent the stories and then share their work
with friends. The website will also offer up games, including one based on
social conflict resolution.

Alongside this Internet
component, 26 original shorts will be produced in order to exploit
opportunities on other platforms such as mobile and VOD. The series, shorts and
website will be fully delivered by fall 2009.
