MySpaceTV in ShineReveille Deal

CANNES, April 10:
ShineReveille International has entered into a deal to represent MySpaceTV’s
original content worldwide across TV, DVD and merchandise.

News of the MySpaceTV and
ShineReveille partnership was announced at MIPTV, where Travis Katz, the
social-networking site’s international managing director, delivered a keynote
this morning. The deal enables MySpaceTV content to be sold exclusively to
television and traditional media by ShineReveille International, while MySpace
retains all distribution rights in the U.S. as well as international web and
mobile distribution rights. Currently ShineReveille has no plans to produce
content for MySpace. The financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.

“MySpaceTV is a proven
fertile ground for emerging creative approaches and techniques; this deal gives
their content the opportunity to transfer directly to traditional platforms,”
said Alex Mahon, the president of ShineReveille’s parent company, Elisabeth
Murdoch’s Shine Group.

“There is an appetite to
create versions of successful online content that can work for the traditional
television platform, as MySpace have already demonstrated,” added ShineReveille
International’s president, Chris Grant. This partnership allows this to be
taken to the next level.”
